How to activate dark mode in Instagram

Activate dark mode on Instagram, help to maintain control (as analysis by Google showed), and make it easier to read the text at night, and maybe the most important thing is that it always looks cool.

Developers have worked in recent months to migrate their application to new color schemes (all of them made up over Google Chrome, Facebook, and Twitter), and Instagram’s one of the newest developers to get this function.

However, enabling dark mode for Instagram is not as easy as flaunting a switch in the app, and it is not yet available to everyone. You need to use the most recent version of the Mobile Operating System, either Android 10 or iOS 13, as head of Instagram Adam Mosseri in a tweet in order to get the dark tone:

You can start today with Instagram on iOS 13 or Android 10 in dark mode. To check it, switch on your phone’s dark mode.

If you have one of those operating systems, Instagram will automatically change color when you activate the device’s system-wide dark mode. There is no way to activate dark mode within Instagram, but hopefully, that will change with future updates.

If and when this happens, we will update this guide accordingly with full instructions on how to make the switch.

Enable dark mode for Instagram in iOS 13

  • Open your phone settings
  • Select ‘Display and Brightness’
  • Tap on ‘Dark’ to change the subject
  • Launch Instagram
Enable dark mode for Instagram in Android 10
  • Open your phone settings
  • Scroll down to ‘display’
  • Activate ‘dark theme’
  • Launch Instagram

  1. Hey! Do you know if they make any plugins to assist with Search Engine Optimization? I’m trying to get my blog to rank for some targeted keywords but I’m not seeing very good gains. If you know of any please share. Many thanks!
